The 300 A3 Miles of Moraira, GREFUSA Trophy, begin a new chapter in its long history, after completing this year 19 years. A regatta that starts next Wednesday, January 22, and that has been consolidated in the cruise calendar as one of the most important appointments in the Mediterranean regattas.
The first step was taken today, with the official presentation of the test. An act that has taken place in the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Wines Valencia in the capital of Turia, with the assistance of Adrián Ruíz, Councilor for Sports, Tourism and Commerce of the municipality of Teulada-Moraira; Cosme Gutiérrez, President of the Wine Regulatory Council D.O. Valencia; Jesús Martí, representing the official sponsor; Rafel Xirivella, Vice President of the Sailing Federation of the Valencian Community and Juan Vicente Oller, President of the Moraira Yacht Club, who has been accompanied by Pedro Martínez, Vocal de Vela del Club, and Ramón Martí, Race Director.
For the president of the Moraira Yacht Club, the regatta does nothing more than endorse the new explosion that the new Board of Directors took last year to continue growing and becoming more important if the ‘300 Miles’ fits. Juan Vicente Oller wanted to underline that “it is one of the emblematic regattas of the Mediterranean and we must know how to manage it well and make the most of the legacy left by the previous Board on this sporting event, flagship of the Club’s sail”.
On the sports plane, the long regatta will be moored next Wednesday, January 22, and in the absence of the official registration closure, there are already 25 boats registered. The organizing committee estimates a participation in the present edition of some 25-30 ships. .
