Seeking synergies with tourism, ensuring that water sports fully enter the school environment to generate a quarry and promote a maximum effort to respect and care for the environment are the three fundamental pillars on which to cement the future of water sports.
The eleven federations related to water sports recently gathered at the First Symposium of Water Sports Federations that was held in El Puerto de Santa María. If this meeting, promoted by the Spanish Association of Nautical Journalists (AEPN), was already considered a success in bringing together the maximum exponents of these eleven sports in what was the first summit of presidents, the scale of commitments was no less so and conclusions that were obtained after two days of fruitful congress, in which José Hidalgo, as President of ADESP, also presented the GreenSportFlag project.
Pedro Sardina, president of the AEPN, comments: “For us it has been a very important act in our activity. Being able to help bring together this cast of state water sports managers was a priority goal for us. We want to help water sports be divided between the different classes and we believe blindly in this type of meeting. We are already thinking about the 2021 edition not only for the success of participation but also for the conclusions obtained and also because we have all seen that together, working side by side, the farthest goals can be achieved ”.
The future edition of the Symposium and Summit will reflect, among other issues, on how the show in water sports could be further promoted, what would be the best way to analyze the data that is handled and how associationism could be promoted. promoting the federative sense.
These and other approaches will extend the conclusions obtained during the I Summit of Presidents of Water Sports Federations.
