Sadness prevailed in the Egyptian public and sports analysts in Egypt, after the opportunity for their team to reach the World Cup was lost due to the loss against Senegal.
Queiroz, 69, wrote on his Twitter account, “The dream is over. We did our best, but today it wasn’t enough. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Egyptian Football Association for the honor of coaching the national team.”
He addressed the players who failed to reach the World Cup for the fourth time in the history of their country, “To all my players and the technical staff, I humbly thank them. You will always be in my heart.”
