Ice on Antartika broken. The 1,270 square kilometer ice has split from the Brunt Ice Sheet, which is up to 150 meters thick. The extent of the ice sheet is estimated to be about the same as Greater London. British Antarctic Survey (BAS) researchers first discovered the cracks about ten years ago.

Recently, climate change has made the earth’s ice sheet melt. However, BAS researchers said in this case there was no evidence that climate change was a major factor.
