Hyderabad: In the first ODI against New Zealand, Hardik Pandya was dismissed by Mitchell Santner in a strange situation. Hardik’s attempt to cut the ball misses. The ball went just over Bales and into the gloves of New Zealand wicketkeeper Tom Latham. However, the Kiwis appealed as Bales lit up with this.
Replays indicated that Bales was hit by Latham’s glove. It is not clear that the ball hit Bales. However, TV umpire Ananthapadmanabhan ruled that Hardik was bold. Hardik Pandya scored 28 runs off 38 balls. Pandya’s wicket went to Darryl Mitchell.

The video footage of Pandya’s ‘controversial dismissal’ went viral on social media. The fans are of the opinion that they still don’t understand how Pandya got out. India won the match by 12 runs. After winning the toss, India scored 349 runs for the loss of eight wickets. In reply, New Zealand managed to score only 337 runs in 49.2 overs.
