The debt that the Capitol has for services that were not paid in the past four years is millionaire. Only to the Aqueduct and Sewerage Authority (AAA), $ 829,412.90 is owed corresponding to the water service.
This was revealed on Thursday by the president of the House of Representatives, Rafael “Tatito” Hernández Montañez, who also pointed out that the debt to be paid to the Electric Power Authority (PREPA) is $ 2,897,492.20.
Hernández Montañez asserted that since he did not have the budget to pay all the debt, he asked the AAA and PREPA to establish an ordinary payment plan from July onwards that includes the payment of the debt and thus not be left without both services due to a cut .
“Our concern was negative news that we started work in the Legislative Assembly and they cut off the water and electricity. That was not acceptable, ”he added.
He explained that “the Electric Power Authority notified us that no payments were actually issued in the past four years,” he said.
