The captain of the restaurant owners, Tony Al-Rami, announces the state of tourist emergency

The head of the Syndicate of Owners of Restaurants, Cafes, Nightclubs and Patisserie in Lebanon, Tony Al-Rami, declared a state of tourist emergency in light of the loss of diesel fuel even on the black market, warning against closing tourist establishments within the next 48 hours.

In a statement, he added, electricity and generators are two basic needs for restaurant establishments to maintain raw materials and food safety and to prepare lunch and dinner meals.

If necessary, the owners of restaurant establishments will resort to relying on one of the two meals, either lunch or dinner, which will inevitably lead to disaster.

He appealed to those concerned to move immediately to find a solution to this dilemma at the height of the tourist season, which is driving Lebanon’s economic cycle.
