The Casablanca Stock Exchange ends slightly down

The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed its trade on Tuesday, down slightly, weakened in particular by the poor performance of the sectors “Utilities”, “Electricity” and “Finance company and other financial activities”.

The Masi, the main index of the Casablanca coast, yielded 0.07% to 12,147.28 points and the MSI20 dropped as much to 990.34 points. Madex also fell by 0.07% to 9,870.3 points, while the benchmark Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) “Casablanca ESG 10” lost 0.37% to 907.14 points.

Internationally, the FTSE CSE Morocco 15 fell 0.18% to 11,457.2 points, and the FTSE Morocco All-Liquid lost 0.1% to 10,343.7 points.

In terms of values, 9 sectors of the 24 represented on the Casablanca coast ended down, against 6 up.

The “Utilities” sector lost 2.17%, the “Electricity” sector lost 1.22% and the “Finance and other financial activities” index fell 0.93%. The “Forestry and paper” sector posted a decline of 0.9%. As for the winners, the “Pharmaceutical industry” index posted the largest increase of the day (3.7%), followed by that of “Engineering and industrial equipment” (1.24%), “Building and building materials ”(0.76%),“ Distributors ”(0.44%) and“ Real estate investment companies ”(0.39%).

The overall volume of securities trading exceeded 36.6 million dirhams (MDH), carried out entirely on the central market. Market capitalization reached nearly 625.4 billion dirhams (billion dirhams).

The largest decreases were recorded by Stokvis Nord Afrique (-3.95%), Cartier Saada (-3.19%), Lydec (-2.17%), Eqdom (-1.95%) and Jet Contractors ( -1.67%).

The largest increases were achieved by Fenie Brossette (3.98%), Sothema (3.97%), Auto Hall (2.72%), Ennakl (2.7%) and Delattre Levivier Maroc (2.39% ).
