The Citizens Stare at 2 Records

Manchester derby volume two on Premier League will go on stage at the weekend. Manchester City on the verge of not just one record, but two. Anything?

City will host Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday (7/3/2021) evening WIB. This duel marks the battle of the two top teams of the standings; City take first place with a 14-point advantage over their city rivals.

The two teams’ last meeting ended with City’s 2-0 win in the League Cup semi-finals in January. Meanwhile, their last meeting in the league was completed 0-0 when MU hosted at Old Trafford, last December.

Facing the Red Devils, Manchester City I’m doing well. The Blue Sky has managed to gain 15 consecutive league wins and is unbeaten in the last 28 matches in all competitions.

Statistics choose revealed, if City managed to avoid defeat in that match then they would set a new record for the longest unbeaten run in the club’s history. There are other records that Pep Guardiola’s men might set. City would have set a new record in the Premier League had they left behind after the previous 19 games had always taken the lead.

“A derby is always important. There is a big history behind the match and a great history about the city of Manchester,” said City player Joao Cancelo on the club’s official website. “But we are City and, as always, we will try and win games.

“We will do everything to win it, and I believe this group is ready for whatever comes.”

“To be honest, I’m not expecting us to play the derby with the advantage we have now, but I believe it is because of our hard work. Everyone has contributed to the winning streak we have and our good performances.”

“The way we train, this is not surprising. Anyone who looks at our daily training sessions can see that this is normal. We are a team with a group of players who are compact, dedicated, and always ready to help each other,” Cancelo straightforwardly looked at the match. Man City vs MU.
