The Colloto players today fired their teammate Miguel Álvarez, “Michi”, 15, after suffering from leukemia that was diagnosed last year at the beginning of the season. The entire staff and coaching staff of the Colloto cadet were today tucking the family in the funeral home in El Salvador, in Oviedo.
The companions of the deceased young man did not hesitate to describe Michi as “a warrior”.“A friend, a companion, a brother, a warrior outside and inside the field”, added some kids who were quite affected by the loss of what they described as “a tireless fighter” and who were grateful for everything he had taught them: “We have learned of your bravery and goodness.”
The young man received a tribute from his peers in November of last year.It was on a day of the competition that he was suspended due to the storm, which did not prevent his colleagues from the cadet Colloto from going to the sports center of the town to show their support, with shirts that bore the motto:“Cheer up, Michi. We look forward to seeing you soon,” as well as giving him other memories on the team.
Unfortunately,Yesterday they had to fire a family member from a club that now feels closer than ever.
No one is ready to break the news like that when it comes to the loss of such a young boy.
We do not have…
