THQ Nordic’s 10th anniversary storefront was full of more obscure video game franchises, but it saved the most recognizable name for last. The editor revealed SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake, a brand new video game based on the Nickelodeon television series. There is no release window (the trailer description says “soon”), but the title is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.

The publisher also didn’t show any gameplay and only released the trailer found at the bottom of the article. It opens with “Sweet Victory”, the iconic song from the episode “Band Geeks”, and runs through many places of Spongebob‘s lore.
Purple Lamp Studios, the team behind the 2020s SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Réhydraté, develops this title. And unlike Rehydrated, Cosmic shake is a new game, not a remaster. The studio did not share any details about this upcoming game and only tweeted a simple GIF in response. Rehydrated was a platform game so it is likely Cosmic shake will follow in those same footprints.
