The cyclist who kicked a five-year-old child in the Baraque Michel district of Jalhay on Christmas Day has been identified, police said Monday morning. The police had issued an investigation message on Sunday at the request of the prosecutor’s office in Liège, department of Verviers.
The incident happened around 3:08 p.m. on Friday, December 25. “The girl was out for a walk with her family. When the cyclist tried to pass them, he pushed her to the side with his knee, causing the girl to fall to the ground, ”the police report said. The incident caused a stir on social media.
The dad had posted the video on Facebook quickly. And this sunday he had received a private phone call from this famous impatient cyclist.
By broadcasting the video, the father of Neïa, 5, hoped to make cyclists and pedestrians aware of the need to share the road with courtesy. Patrick Mpasa also expected “at least” an apology. But obviously this phone call had left him unsatisfied.
