Some 48.7 million French people are called to the polls this Sunday, April 10, 2022 for the first round of the presidential election. Polling stations are open everywhere in France between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. and until 8 p.m. in major cities. Twelve candidates presented themselves during this first round. The two candidates with the highest number of votes are qualified for the second round, on Sunday April 24, 2022, where the one who obtains the majority of the votes cast becomes President of the Republic.

As a reminder, no poll, result or estimate can be published in France this Sunday before 8 p.m. However, this rule does not apply to foreign media, including Belgium.
