The government 24, poor management of personal information… Issuance of income certificate only with resident number

The government allowed the e-government service Government24 (www.gov.kr) to remove the income verification certificate even if it is not the person with only name and resident registration number, but when poor personal information management was pointed out, the issuance procedure was later corrected.

According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on the 1st, until the previous day, by entering the name and resident registration number on the government 24 website, an income verification certificate could be issued without going through other authentication procedures.

It has been the same way ever since the government24 started issuing income verification certificates on March 26th.

When receiving the same certificate from the National Tax Service’s Internet tax payment service Hometax, you must authenticate yourself with a public certificate or a financial certificate.

The National Tax Service, which is the department in charge, and the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, which operates Government24, took measures to issue a certificate of income verification only after self-authentication with an official/financial certificate was delayed when related complaints were filed on the National Reporting Center and pointed out that personal information protection was poor. .

An official from the Ministry of Public Administration and Security said, “We plan to review the personal information management situation by rechecking the certification process for the issuance certificate.”
