The Government extends to vulnerable groups the insurance of non-payment of rent for young people

The Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Raquel Sánchez, announced this Friday a novelty regarding the Housing Law. Specifically, the insurance for non-payment of rent for young people will be extended to also cover vulnerable people.

As the Executive revealed a few days ago, this help will consist of financing a private insurance coverage for a possible non-payment of housing income for up to one year, and the amount of the insurance premium cannot exceed 5% of the annual rent. This measure is designed to facilitate access to the home and to confer greater security to the owners.

Sánchez explained this at a conference on Mobility and Housing organized by the Círculo de Economía, in which he also announced the creation of an immediate action plan from this month until summer to improve the Rodalies service in Catalonia.

It has not detailed what investment the plan will entail, which will be applied by Renfe, but it will include improving accessibility at seven stations (Rubí, Sant Cugat, Les Franqueses – Granollers Nord, Montmeló, Montgat, Montgat Nord and Pineda de Mar), as well as advances in digitization and security to improve traveler service.
