The situation of the Louis Delhaize group in Belgium is not the best. Since the beginning of the year, it has decided to launch a vast plan to try to avoid the losses that its stores have made in recent months. Unfortunately, this does not prevent closures. This Tuesday, as reported by Retaildetail, the group organized a special works council to announce that the Smatch in Zelzate and Lokeren will close their doors definitively at the end of November.
What’s more, online e-commerce business will also be halted. In the misfortune, Louis Delhaize does not intend to separate from employee since those will be able to continue to work in other stores of the group.
In Belgium, there are 55 Smatch stores.
