For a few weeks it had become relatively quiet around the handheld PC Steam Deck. That made some of the pre-orderers a bit nervous in particular, who are supposed to be delivered in February 2022. But this uncertainty is unfounded, as Valve has now assured.
The team has worked under a current status updates reported and made it clear that no further delay is to be expected. The current corona pandemic and problems with global supply chains would not change that. It says exactly: “First things first: We can adhere to the shipping schedule for the Steam Deck. Despite the pandemic and delivery problems, we can probably start shipping the devices at the end of February.”
This means that soon all those buyers who were there for the first wave of pre-orders should receive their copy of the Steam Deck. Valve also stated that numerous developer kits have been sent to various development studios in the past few weeks. They can now begin to test their games on the handheld PC and then receive the “Verified for the Steam Deck” certificate.
