The Tunisian private radio Mosaique revealed that the husband of the Tunisian actress, Reem Riahi, dropped the complaint against her, leaving her fate in the hands of the Public Prosecution.

Mosaic did not mention Reem Riahi by name, but Tunisian circles are all agreed that Reem Riahi is concerned with this issue.

Mosaic quoted its sources as saying that the brown substance that was seized inside the apartment located in Al-Nasr neighborhood turned out to be a “liquid” substance and was kept inside two small bottles, not “marijuana.”

She added that the actress’s husband “prepared a drop-off letter for the penal tracing against her, which will be submitted, tomorrow, Wednesday, to the Public Prosecution Office of the Court of First Instance in Ariana, to decide in the light of it what it deems appropriate.”

And she added, “The well-known artist remains under the effect of the retention card until tomorrow, Wednesday, the date of referring it to the attention of the Public Prosecution, given that the effect of the retention card lasts 48 hours, starting from yesterday, Monday.”

The case caused an uproar in Tunisia following the announcement of the arrest of a famous actress after she was arrested with her lover in the marital bed.

Some social networking pages have claimed that the actress in charge of this case is Reem Riahi, especially since the Tunisian security authorities said that the actress’s husband, who put her in an ambush, prepared him to expose her, a Tunisian director who lives in France, and Reem Riahi’s husband is Tunisian director Madih Belaid and lives in France.

Despite the torrent of comments, many commentators expressed their solidarity with the artist, Reem Al-Riyahi.
