The health crisis linked to the spread of the Covid-19 virus has disrupted Eiffage’s activity both in Works and in Concessions. Explanations.
In this context, the Group has given priority to ensuring the health security of its employees and, in general, of those working on its activity sites. Likewise, everything has been done to ensure the operational continuity of the essential activities for which he is responsible in his countries of intervention.
In the Works, in France as in the European sites of the Group, all affected by the health crisis, the teams remained mobilized on the missions of hospital maintenance, sustainability of the food chain or maintenance of the supply of electricity, water and gas …, essential to the functioning of the nation. Many other production activities had to be suspended until the organization of work was reviewed in the current health context and the reinforcement of barrier measures, in conjunction with contractors and public authorities. The recovery will be gradual, depending on the typologies of activities or works and their priority nature. Finally, certain other operations are postponed on the decision of the customers or in the event that it is impossible to implement the health prerequisites. The stakes are high, the Works order book amounting to 14.2 billion euros as of December 31, 2019.
In Concessions, the continuity of service of the transport infrastructures for which the Group is responsible in the motorway, rail and airport sectors remained a priority. The unprecedented drop in motorway traffic in France since mid-March is the logical consequence of the application of confinement instructions and, to a lesser extent, border closings. APRR’s motorway traffic is detailed in the appendix. In the airport sector, which is marginal in the Group’s activity, the same health measures have gradually reduced traffic to around 15 daily flights (departures) at Toulouse airport this week. Finally, in the rail sector, it is recalled that Eiffage operates the Brittany-Pays de la Loire high-speed line as part of a PPP,
In this exceptional context, the Group has made it a priority to ensure the health security of its employees and in general of those working on its sites of activity. Likewise, everything has been done to ensure the operational continuity of the essential activities for which he is responsible in his countries of intervention.
