The IPL is over and the World Cup is over

Muscat | With the conclusion of the 14th edition of the IPL tournament in the UAE, the flag will be raised today for the excitement of the T20 World Cup. The tournament runs until the 14th of next month. Group matches are in Oman. Subsequent matches will be played in the UAE.

Although the organizers of the match were the BCCI, Kovid had decided to hold the matches outside India in the background.

The competition is in two stages. The first leg of the tournament, which will feature eight teams from Oman, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Ireland, the Netherlands, Scotland, Namibia and Papua New Guinea, begins today in Muscat.

After 12 matches in two groups, two teams from each group will qualify for the next round (Super 12). The four teams and the top eight in the T20 rankings will take part in the Super 12 round in the UAE from the 24th of this month.

Preparations have been completed in Oman to welcome the World Cup. The team, led by BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, visited the Emirates Cricket Stadium in Muscat to inspect the preparations. The World Cup will be played in the same venues as the IPL in the UAE.

The first match is between Oman and Papua New Guinea
The group stage of the Twenty20 World Cup starts today in Muscat. Oman will face New Guinea at 3.30pm. Bangladesh will face Scotland at 6 p.m. The matches will be played at the Emirates Cricket Ground. Group A: Ireland, Netherlands, Sri Lanka and Namibia. Group B: Bangladesh, Oman, Scotland and Papua New Guinea.

Teams, including Sri Lanka, have already arrived in Oman for training. There are also warm-up matches between different countries. The training venues are located in the city of Muscat itself.

Spectators will be allowed
Emirates Cricket Ground ready for T20 World Cup Spectators will be allowed. Duleep Mendis, chief development officer of the Oman Cricket Association, said the 2,500 to 3,000 spectators who received the vaccine would have access to one match. The ICC recommends floodlights with a capacity of 1,100 to 2,500 lux. It is directed at the stadium. The VIP box, media box, TV commentator box and TV camera system are all set up on the ground.
