Within the varied offer of audiovisual festivals enjoyed by Barcelona, there is one dedicated to young people made by young people themselves. We talk about Reteena, Jove Audiovisual Festival of Barcelona who was born in January 2018 with a clear educational vocation aimed at an audience between 13 and 19 years old with the aim of becoming a space for discovery, reflection and experimentation of audiovisuals, beyond mere consumerism.
During the weekend from December 7 to 8, the Fàbrica de Creació Fabra i Coats will host the second edition of this event led by Claudia Mera and Maria Castellví, who lead a team of boys and girls between 15 and 22 years old. On this occasion the festival has chosen to change its format to bet on workshops and master classes aimed at a audience with concerns about audiovisual creation. "Taking into account the success of the practical activities in the first edition, we have opted for a more didactic and experimental offer so that young people can enjoy a close experience with different audiovisual disciplines," said the organizers.
Collectives and professionals of audiovisual pedagogy as The speaker and Nadir they repeat again offering talks and specialized workshops in a festival that expands its course offerings and adds new collaborators: the Eòlia theater school, which will offer a theater initiation workshop; the drawing school Joso, which will hold a workshop on the Storyboard and media such as the online magazine dedicated to the series Serialized and the information portal for young people Adolescents.cat.
"With this action, the festival seeks to be a dissemination window for training centers in very diverse areas of audiovisual, with a practical and playful approach," says Castellví.
Among the proposals of this weekend there is also room for urban music video clip analysis (Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Rosalia…) in charge of The speaker and film analysis based on the universe of the filmmaker Quentin Tarantino. It also highlights the projection of Your nameby Makoto Shinkai, the highest grossing anime in movie history; a round table with Adolescents.cat (Juliana, Sir Joan, actresses Mireia Oriol and Dèlia Brufau and Roger Carandell) on the soundtracks that have marked them most in their lives, a concert of film music with the Barcelona Symphony Band and the screening of the first chapter of Sapere Aude, spin-off of Merlí which will be followed by a subsequent colloquium by Serialized with members of the technical and artistic team of the film.
