The launch of the Eastern Film Festival in the Sultanate of Oman

The festival honored three Arab artists at the opening ceremony, which was held at the Fath Al-Khair Center of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism Saad Al-Faraj from Kuwait andin Sharkawy from Bahrain andSuhair FahD from Jordan, as well as the Tunisian journalist, Zahraa Muhammad.

He also honored a number of Omani artists, among them Khalil Al-Sanani And Saleh al-Khaduri and Saud al-Khanjari andSheikha bin Salem Al Habsiyya And director Khaled Al-Kalbani, TV cameraman Majid Al-Ismaili, producer Muhammad Al-Rasbi, and director Amal Al-Kathiriya, in addition to the names of the late Salem Bahwan and Saad Al-Qabban.

Festival director Anwar bin Khamis Al-Ruzaiqi said in the opening speech that the festival presents details of a place where different arts and literatures were mixed, as ships carried messages of friendship and peace to various shores, and returned to the shores of Tire with a mixture of arts, sciences and literatures of successive civilizations, indicating that Sur state It was one of the windows of the Sultanate of Oman to communicate with the civilizations of the world.

Earlier on Wednesday, the first activities accompanying the festival were launched, which is the “Make Your Film” competition for children under 12 years old, and a mobile phone cinematography workshop presented by photographer Saeed Al-Khamasi.

The festival’s program, which runs until January 14, includes a scriptwriting workshop presented by Saudi director Adnan Balais, and a seminar entitled (Cinema and Architecture) that discusses the importance of investing in monuments and historical buildings in filming cinematic works, such as the architecture of castles, forts, and ancient markets.
