She is a singer, theater and soap opera actress. Rossana Fernández Maldonado is an artist through and through. She has starred in fun musicals like ‘Cabaret’ and ‘Amor sin Barreras’. Now she confesses to Trome and tells us little secrets regarding her life.
Rossana, define yourself in three words…
Cheerful, perfectionist and sensitive.
TROME – Rossana Fernández Maldonado reveals complicated relationship with Renzo Schuller in ‘Hello to All’: “He was horrible to me”
The first thing that attracts you to a man…
His attitude, that he is a self-confident man, from the way he walks to how he expresses himself. And speaking of the physique, I think I like a manly man, taller than me, who looks strong, so ‘macho’, ha, ha, ha.
Are you difficult to conquer?
Damn, apparently yes because I’ve been single for seven years, ha, ha, ha. Over time I pay more attention to the details.
Are the doors of love still open? Would you like to remarry?
I would like to have a partner, but I don’t know whether to remarry or live with someone else.
Are you jealous? Have you done jealous scenes?
As a chibola she was very jealous, but never toxic. I didn’t want my boyfriends to have many friends, but I might have friends, ha, ha, ha.
Have you forgiven an infidelity? Would you do it?
When I was younger I found out they had been unfaithful to me, but following it broke up. At this point in my life, the truth is that there is no way. I am a faithful woman and I expect the same from my partner.
Have you done crazy things for love?
Yes and I don’t regret it. When I was dating my daughters’ father, I spent a lot of money going to visit him in Buenos Aires or inviting him to visit me in Colombia. She was young and single.

Your biggest fear is…
As a mother, I am terrified that something will happen to my daughters. And like Rossana, I was afraid of having a very painful illness.
What defects would you like to change?
I work a lot on being more organized and constant in what I set out to do. Having discipline costs me a lot.
If you weren’t an actress and singer, what would you be?
Teacher, I would have a nest and give talks for parents. In fact, I was studying Initial Education, but I did not finish the degree.
How you relax?
I like being in nature. I am lucky to live surrounded by parks, so I go, I take off my shoes, I hug a tree, I meditate, I pray the rosary. That gives me a lot of peace.
Do you have manias?
At night I close all the closet doors and turn the mirrors.
The best advice you’ve been given so far…
No one is going to live your life for you. Nobody takes anything from you, everyone has what they deserve or what they deserve.
If you might hug someone once more, who would it be and what would you say to them?
Something that marked me a lot and I think all of us who were in ‘Nubeluz’ was the death of Mónica. I would like to go back to that time, but at my current age, with everything I know, talk to her, offer her help. She was very young when she died, she was 21 years old, suffered from depression and lived alone.
What did they call you as a child?
Until now everyone calls me ‘Rossanita’. And at school they called me flat, dwarf, flea, all in reference to my size.
Do you like to cook?
Look, if I cook it’s because I have to eat, out of necessity and so that my daughters don’t die of hunger ha, ha, ha. But I do like making desserts. And since my daughter has a gluten allergy, I have learned to do several things. For example, I make some oatmeal cookies with chocochip goodness. They tell me to sell them ha, ha, ha.
What do you not tolerate from others?
Let them be liars and hypocrites. I always say that it is easier to tell the truth even if it hurts. And that’s what I teach my daughters.
How would your daughters describe you?
Happy, a little strict because I chase them to do their homework and not watch so much television, and too much of a singer because I sing all day long.
What projects are you in?
Rehearsing the play ‘Lovers’, we premiere on October 17 at the Teatro Nos. And I am also preparing the two dates of my show ‘Me vale madre’, on October 4 and 11, at the Barranco Station.
