The man executed in the New York subway was the Mexican Daniel Enriquez – El Financiero

Goldman Sachs Chief Executive David Solomon said Monday that the company was devastated to learn of the the execution of one of his employees on a New York City Subway train

Daniel Enriquez He was a “beloved” member of the firm for nine years and “embodied our culture of collaboration and excellence,” Solomon said in a statement.

The firm was “devastated by this senseless tragedy and our deepest condolences go out to Dan’s family at this difficult time,” it added.

Enriquez, who joined Goldman’s Global Investment Research division in 2013, died after he was shot at point-blank range by a person on a train heading to Manhattan from Brooklyn on Sunday morning.

Jorge Islas, Mexican consul in New York, condemned the murder of Enriquez and assured that the dependency was declared ready to support the debts of the connational.

The attack against Enriquez

A gunman fired a shot, hitting the 48-year-old man in the chest in an unprovoked attack, police said. The aggressor, who fled at the next station, has not yet been arrested.

Police released images of the suspect on Monday and asked the public for help. “We need all eyes on this,” Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell wrote in a Twitter post.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams said he spoke with Solomon and offered his condolences to the firm and Enriquez’s family. Adams added that he was looking to bring weapons-detection technology to the city’s subways and that he is working with the NYPD to identify whether a transit officer should have been at the station. No officers were present at the time of the shooting.

“It’s time to get back to our jobs and the Metro system is a major driver of that. When you have an incident like this, it sends a chilling feeling. There is no way around that,” he pointed out. “I will meet with all my corporate leaders and tell them that we must move forward.”

There have been a series of shocking attacks on the New York City subway this year, including a man who opened fire on a full car traveling from Brooklyn to Manhattan in Apriland a woman was killed in January when she was pushed in front of an oncoming train in Times Square.
