The Minister of Labor has called on winter sports resorts to recruit, even if seasonal workers must then experience partial unemployment.
While the Minister of Health underlines that the health situation in the country presents some signs of optimism, entire sections of the national economy nevertheless remain completely at a standstill. This is the case of winter sports resorts, which should have opened at the beginning of December to welcome their first customers.

They will have to be patient, because all members of the government keep reminding them of the will not to want to go too fast. However, the month of december remains an essential period for this economic sector, since it constitutes 20% of their activity. And after a end of season already shortened by Covid-19, the professionals hope to be able to start this one well.
To cope with the influx of tourists, winter sports resorts recruit more than 120,000 seasonal workers each year, which make it possible to welcome customers in the best conditions.
While no decision has yet been made, the Minister of Labor, Ms Elisabeth Borne wanted to reassure the professionals concerned by asking them to do everything to prepare to resume, when the time is right.
“I wanted to reassure professionals in the sector, tell them that we are looking at how we can give them insurance, so that they recruit seasonal workers. They may benefit, if necessary, from partial activities. “
Professionals in the sector are therefore called upon to recruit their seasonal workers, even if they must immediately apply partial unemployment to them. A decision unimaginable a few months ago, and yet seems to be unanimous today.
