Governor Vladimir Solodov signed a decree appointing Alexander Gashkov to the post of Minister of Health of the region. Previously, Gashkov headed the Ministry of Health of the Ulyanovsk Region.
Gashkov was born on May 29, 1980 in the city of Krasnokamensk, Chita Region. Has higher education. In 2009 he graduated from the Chita State Medical Academy with a degree in Pediatrics.
From 2010 to 2011, he worked as a bacteriologist in the bacteriological laboratory of the laboratory support department of the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology in the Trans-Baikal Territory. From 2011 to 2015, he worked as the head of the clinical laboratory of the city hospital No. 2 in the city of Chita. Alexander Gashkov also worked as the chief physician of the State Healthcare Institution “Novospassky District Hospital” of the Ulyanovsk Region.
Prior to his appointment as Minister of Health of the Kamchatka Territory, Gashkov worked less than a year and a half as the Minister of Health of the Ulyanovsk Region.
As the Ulyanovsk edition 73online writes, as a minister, Gashkov was remembered for the reform of the department and the merger of district hospitals, high-profile resignations of chief doctors and criminal cases in the ministry. One of the complaints was that Gashkov did not form a team of professionals around him, the Ministry of Health left specialists from the medical department, public procurement, and they were replaced by “dubious personalities.”
