The monetary base in Qatar declined during the month of last September by 10.6% on a monthly basis to reach 100 billion riyals.

The reserve money in the banking system in Qatar was affected last month by a 42.6% decrease in surplus reserve balances to reach 8.7 billion riyals, and a decrease in bank deposits with the Qatar Central Bank through the Qatari money market mechanism by 17.7% to approximately 24.2 billion riyals, against the stability of cash. The issuer is at 23.7 billion riyals, and the mandatory reserve is stable at the level of 43.4 billion riyals.
