The Legal Medicine report states that For the period January – November 893 women were murdered and of that figure, 84 cases were registered whose circumstance was femicide.
Other figures in this report indicate that, 80 homicides of women between the ages of 0 and 18 were registered; there is a report of 740 cases of homicides of women in the life cycle between 18 and 59 years; and 73 homicides of older women. 109 cases more than those registered in 2020.
On the other hand, 17,361 women were victims of sexual violence; 26,701 suffered intimate partner violence; and 9,478 women were victims of domestic violence.
Of the total of violent deaths, 11,859 correspond to homicides and 2,350 to suicides. 2,115 more cases than those reported in 2020.
May, June, July and August were the most violent months, and Valle del Cauca, Antioquia and Bogotá appear as the cities with the highest number of cases of violence.
