Al-Marsad newspaper: Sultan Al-Baqmi, the owner of a cafe in Riyadh, revealed, during an interview with Al-Ekhbariya channel, the difference in income for cafes, and the procedures that must be followed before setting up a cafe or restaurant in a certain area in the Kingdom.

Sultan Al-Baqmi said that the income of any café depends on the area of the shop and the target group. The café’s income may range from 500 riyals to 5 or 6 thousand riyals.

Average income

He continued, in my café, we target the category of students and employees, and the average monthly income is in the range of 150 thousand or 200 thousand riyals, depending on the seasons, and this is little in terms of covering expenses and profits.

He added, in the last period, some cafes were closed due to losses, because the market entered a correction period.

Tips for anyone who wants to open a cafe or restaurant

And he added, whoever wants to open a café or restaurant, he must monitor the market in the area in which it will open, the last 6 months, not to measure the numbers that are said, or the opinion of a person and his advice, and the Ministry of Commerce is setting up a platform that the citizen can view and ask himself.

He stressed, we cannot say that one area without the other needs to establish a cafe or a restaurant, this depends on the spread of the population, and accordingly we define, for example, in Riyadh, for example, in my view of the population density in the north is sufficient and does not need cafe projects.
