The phallic nod to “Sex Education” hidden on Gillian Anderson’s dress

Awarded at the ceremony for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in The Crown, the actress had on her dress a daring little accessory dedicated to the other series of which she is the heroine.

She was undoubtedly one of the big stars of Emmy Awards, held this Sunday in Los Angeles, and Gillian Anderson held her rank by winning the Best Supporting Actress statuette for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in The Crown, acclaimed by voters.

But the British actress is also the heroine of another equally acclaimed Netflix series, Sex Education, in which she plays the role of Jean Milburn, sex therapist and eccentric mother of Otis, central character of the comedy which deconstructs the stereotypes around sex in teens.

And during the “Emmys”, the British actress has as usual wanted to wink at the show whose third season has just landed on the platform.

We could therefore see, this Sunday evening, a small metallic object in the shape of a phallus hanging from her outfit designed by stylist Gabriela Hearst. A very concealed and oh so humorous tribute.

Gillian Anderson has been having fun since the first season of “Sex Ed” by making allusions to phallic objects and uninhibited sexuality, in particular by sharing hilarious erotic pictures on her Instagram account, to the delight of her subscribers.
