The plane that landed at Brussels Airport was checked: it was a fake bomb threat

The bomb threat, which occurred early Thursday evening on a plane heading to Brussels Airport, turned out to be unfounded, Brussels Airport Company reported. “The checks carried out by the federal police are over”.

The aircraft, an Air Baltic Airbus 220, took off from Riga, the capital of Latvia, and was destined for Brussels airport. The plane landed there shortly before 6 p.m. But following a bomb threat, the plane was taken to a corner of the airport to be thoroughly inspected.

All Brussels Airport services remained operational during this check, the airport assured.
