The 40-year-old police house in Greenland in Oslo is not suitable for current or future needs, writes the newspaper.
It is dilapidated, lacks maintenance, space and the possibility of special rooms, and the operations center does not have room for everyone, according to Mæland. But the ministry will not move the police station.
– The police station is centrally located and well located. It is not easy to find similar plots in Oslo, or new buildings that meet police requirements, says Mæland.
Mæland estimates that the rehabilitation, including internal equipment, will cost between NOK 2.5 and 3 billion.
Statsbygg is given the task of concretizing the project.
