The German national team needs to prepare with fresh energy for the next tournament. German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier wrote about this on Instagram (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in Russia), commenting on the departure of the German team from the World Cup in Qatar.

“Dear team, for us it was not just a tournament. Of course, we would love to continue to cheer for you. It’s time to take a deep breath, relax a little and head out to the next tournament with fresh energy. Good luck in this endeavor!” the president wrote.

On Friday night the Germans beat team of Costa Rica with a score of 4:2 in the match of the third round of the group stage of the World Cup in Qatar. However, the victory was not enough to qualify for the playoffs of the tournament.

In the parallel match of Group E, the Japanese team beat Spain with a score of 2:1. As a result, the Japanese took first place in their quartet with 6 points, Spain came second with 4 points and advanced to the 1/8 finals of the tournament along with the Japanese. Germany was also in third place with 4 points, losing to the Spaniards on the difference between goals scored and conceded. Costa Rica took the last, fourth, line (3 points).
