Prince William and Catherine arrived in Boston on Wednesday, November 30. Thursday, December 1, the Prince and Princess of Wales started their day by visiting the startup Greentown Labs. Greentown bills itself as a community for start-up entrepreneurs where members pay a monthly fee to access the lab and offices. The company says it has participated in the creation of more than 9,000 jobs and the incubation of more than 500 companies.

After this visit, the Prince and Princess of Wales traveled to Chelsea, another locality in the suburbs of Boston. They visited Roca Inc., an organization that takes care of “finding hope and leading change” for people who live “an incarceration, in poverty or racism”. The organization achieves this “by engaging young adults, police and the systems at the center of urban violence in relationships to deal with trauma”.

Founder Molly Baldwin was surprised by the news of the visit, despite the group’s focus on mental health, which is a priority topic for William and Kate. The organization’s founder warmly thanked the heir couple for highlighting the work of their organization. Roca Inc. focuses on adolescents and young adults at the center of violence.
