The producer of “The Lion King” denies Facua: they are returning the amount of the tickets

Facua-Consumidores en Acción has denounced Stage Entertainment, the promoter of the musical “The Lion King”, before the General Directorate of Commerce and Consumption of the Community of Madrid, for “not reimbursing the ticket money” to customers who request it after the show was canceled due to the state of alarm due to the coronavirus. The association, as reported by EFE and EP, has received complaints from users indicating that the company does not give the option of recovering the money from the tickets of the canceled passes, but instead offers the change for a later date.

However, through a statement, Stage Entertainment “flatly” denies the information released by FACUA for its falsity and “deeply” regrets that the association has not contacted them to contrast the data published today. According to the company, since last March 10, the date on which Stage Entertainment Spain closed the Lope de Vega and Coliseum theaters following instructions from the authorities, the producer has reimbursed “more than 30,000 locations.”

Likewise, in the statement, to which ABC has had access, the company defends that “in express compliance with the regulations and in particular with Royal Decree-Law 11/2020, of March 31, which adopts urgent complementary measures in the social and economic field to face the COVID-19 “, offer, within the legally established deadlines, the option of exchanging the tickets by issuing a voucher for the total amount of the purchase made, and in view of the refusal to this proposal, they manage “without delay” the full refund of the purchase made.

Stage Entertainment argues that, “due to the gravity of the situation we are experiencing, the response times to viewers affected by the cancellations are taking longer than desired.” And, “in the face of the patent falsehood of its statement,” the producer requires FACUA “to publicly and immediately deny that information in all the media and on its own website and to send us proof of its performance.” In addition, Stage Entertainment requires the association to withdraw the complaint before the General Directorate of Commerce and Consumption of the Community of Madrid. .
