The Public Prosecution ordered the release of the actress, Menna Shalaby, after her interrogation, after she was arrested at Cairo International Airport, returning from abroad, in possession of materials suspected of being narcotics, and a report of investigations on the incident had been received, if she paid a financial guarantee of fifty thousand pounds.
As the Public Prosecution Office had received a notification this afternoon, Friday, that the actress, Menna Shalaby, had been arrested at Cairo International Airport upon her return from abroad, during the completion of customs procedures, and she was in possession of a number of bags containing her personal belongings, which by placing them on the x-ray examination showed the presence of organic condensates inside them, so it was completed. A thorough search of her resulted in the discovery of materials suspected of being narcotics, so she was arrested and the seized materials were kept.
Today, the Public Prosecution received a report from the General Department for Narcotics Control regarding the findings of the investigations in that incident, in which it was proven that the accused had obtained these materials with the intention of using.
And when the Public Prosecution Office initiated the investigations, it began by interrogating the accused regarding the accusation attributed to her of possession and possession of narcotic substances with the intent to use, and she denied them.
Accordingly, the Public Prosecution ordered her release with a financial guarantee of fifty thousand pounds, and to send the seized materials in her possession to the Forensic Medicine Authority for examination and to indicate their nature and the extent to which they contained any of the narcotic substances.
Investigations are being completed.
