This is how Scholz governs the country with Corona
The Chancellor has Corona. And now? BILD knows the details.
Olaf Scholz (64, SPD, vaccinated four times) landed from Qatar at Berlin Airport BER (military part) shortly before half past eleven on Sunday night. Then we went home to Potsdam. Then on Monday the positive test result. Corona quarantine!
Where is Scholz?
Of the Chancellor is now in his official apartment in the Chancellery (28 sqm) on the 8th floor, directly above his office. Scholz doesn’t actually use the apartment, always going home to Potsdam, where he lives in a top floor apartment with his wife Britta Ernst (61, SPD, Minister of Education in Brandenburg).
Exception: When Ernst had Corona in June, Scholz slept in the Chancellery so that he would not get infected before the important G7 summit in Elmau (Bavaria).

Is the chancellor on duty?
Scholz should continue to work relatively normally, has his cell phone and iPad with him. Employees can leave files and documents in front of his door, and food is supplied via the Chancellery’s kitchen.

How is he?
According to the official statement, Scholz only has mild cold symptoms and a rough voice.
However: On Tuesday afternoon, Scholz switched digitally to the meeting of the SPD parliamentary group and explained that he was following the advice of Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (57, SPD) and was now taking Paxlovid.
The drug is used to prevent particularly severe courses.
Does Lauterbach also support the chancellor with medical advice? A spokesman for the minister told BILD: “The minister is in regular contact with the Chancellor”, this applies regardless of the Chancellor’s corona disease.
MPK cancelled
Meanwhile, the Prime Ministers’ Conference (MPK) planned for Wednesday was postponed due to Scholz’s corona infection.
North Rhine-Westphalia’s head of government, Hendrik Wüst (47, CDU), currently MPK chairman, said on Twitter: “The Chancellor asked me to postpone the federal-state consultations on the relief package because he cannot attend personally due to his isolation. New date: October 4th.
