POLITICS – Barely started, the fiery debate on the proposal to ban bullfighting came to a halt in the National Assembly on Thursday, November 24, where LFI deputy Aymeric Caron withdrew his text in raging against the hundreds of amendments « d’obstruction ».

So much so that the Insoumis then decided to go directly to the examination of the text on the reinstatement unvaccinated caregivers against the Covid-19judging that it had a better chance of being adopted, the National Rally and a large part of the LR deputies being in favor of this measure.

During the debates, the Democratic deputy Philippe Vigier distinguished himself by a rant at the podium (listen in the video below), he who lost a brother because of the epidemic.

“I have a doctor brother from the health reserve who died in combat. He died in battle to protect people, why? Because he was not vaccinated and because he contracted Covid, so please be careful! »urged the deputy to the attention of his colleagues.

“And finally, I would not like, in a few years, for a Minister of Health to be summoned to the Court of Justice of the Republic because we did not protect our staff”he added. “What we have done, we have done with pride, and finally I do not forget dear colleagues of the NUPES, (…) the day when the High Authority for Health will give the blank check, (.. .) there we will follow his prerogatives”.

“You’ve never been to a lab!” »

Before that, Philippe Vigier had also gotten carried away about PCR tests for non-vaccinated caregivers, if they were reinstated: “Are you going to explain to me, biologist, that every morning, we give you a PCR test and that we take the result in the evening? But wait, you’ve never been to a lab! (…) It is unacceptable to say that, it does not hold water for a single second. (…) I propose to you, colleagues, practical work: you will come Monday morning at 7 a.m., we will do it, and you will see what will happen”.

On Sunday, the Minister of Health Francois Braun had announced on RTL that it will decide on the reinstatement or not of unvaccinated caregivers when it has received the opinions of the High Authority for Health and the National Consultative Ethics Committee.

“The problem of unvaccinated caregivers is on two levels”explained the minister, who was asked about this option in the face of the shortage of caregivers in hospitals.

“It is first of all at a level of health security: do we accept that people who are not sufficiently protected are close to the most fragile people? »he wondered, recalling that“We are still dying from the Covid in France every day”.

And moreover, “there is an ethical problem”he added, especially compared to caregivers who played the game at the height of the Covid crisis and who have “held the line”.
