The average check for such consoles in April amounted to 3,530 rubles, writes TASS with reference to research “Index check” of the OFD Platform company. Analysts compared the sales of PC games in April 2021 and 2022, as well as the dynamics in April compared to January.

It turned out that consoles for 8 and 16-bit games with pre-installed retro games were ahead of stationary game consoles for playing on the PlayStation. The volume of sales of such set-top boxes grew year-on-year by 13%, although since January the figure has decreased by 15%.

Experts clarify: the average bill for such set-top boxes in April was 3,530 rubles, which is 5% higher than last year, and 10% lower than in January.

Sales of game consoles in monetary terms in April decreased year-on-year by 78%, and since January – by 81%. The average check amounted to 31,895 rubles, which is 21% lower than last year and 68% lower than in January.

According to “Index Check”, in sales of game consoles traditionally a high share was occupied by devices for games on PS, but after a number of games and services from PlayStation became unavailable in March, their sales fell. As a result, retro gaming devices, which were especially popular in the 1990s and then adapted for use on modern TV monitors, came to the top purchases.
