With the Covid-19 crisis, the government is encouraging companies in strategic sectors to relocate their production.
The research and development activity of Crosscall, an SME specializing in the production of sustainable smartphones, will soon no longer be carried out in Asia, but in sunny Aix-en-Provence. The key: 14 jobs created in the short term and 44 by 2024 if the company’s projects materialize.
This is the second very good news in a few months for this small French player in mobile telephony. It has already won in March a call for tenders to equip the police and the gendarmerie with phones and tablets. It is one of the 58 new companies whose relocation project has been selected and financially supported by the State. This is the fifth wave of laureates selected by the state for a year.
The Covid crisis has cruelly underscored France’s dependence and vulnerability in the industrial sector. The government has undertaken to remedy this by encouraging companies in strategic sectors to relocate their production or strengthen their French factories.
