The Suicide Squad: Sylvester Stallone will play a role, confirms James Gunn


Director James Gunn has confirmed Sylvester Stallone has a role in The Suicide Squad. The filmmaker revealed the news on Instagram, indicating that the Hollywood legend will appear in the sequel to the superhero film.

He notably added that he was honored to work with the star.

“I’ve always enjoyed working with my friend @officialslystallone and our work today on #TheSuicideSquad was no exception. Although Sly is a movie star, most people still have no idea how amazing this guy is, an actor, ”he said in his post.

And when questioned by a subscriber, who asked “Sly is in Suicide Squad? Did I miss an episode or what? ”The 54-year-old director replied,“ No. I am announcing it to you now ”.

Sylvester Stallone also shared the news with his fans on Instagram and praised James Gunn and his production team.

“Working with this amazing director on this awesome project has made this year an amazing one. I am very fortunate to be surrounded by so much talent! ”He stressed.

The actor previously worked with James Gunn on the film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in 2017, in which he played the role of Captain Stakar Ogord. It is not yet known what role Sylvester Stallone will play in the Suicide Squad sequel.

The Suicide Squad, which also stars Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, Viola Davis, John Cena and Peter Capaldi, is due out in August 2021.
