The TAD cancels the electoral process of the Spanish Federation

The elections for the presidency of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) already give problems when they have not yet been made, as the Administrative Court of Sport (TAD) declared null and void the process initiated by the Federation, which provided for the election of the president on 17 August. Luis Rubiales, the current president, was the favorite to win them after the announcement of the exporter Iker Casillas not to run in this process.

The TAD, however, partially upheld the appeals filed by the Madrid Football Federation (RFFM) and the Flat Earth and UD Los Barrios clubs, after previously denying the adoption of a precautionary measure on the call for elections. The court’s ruling states that the call for elections, made by the board of directors and not by the president on June 10, “has not been made by the statutory body.” The legal consequence that the call has been made by an incompetent body “is the nullity” of the process. According to the electoral calendar, the renewal of the 140 members of the general assembly was scheduled for July 20 and the election of the president for August 17 or, if it was decided that August was not ideal as it was a month. holiday, September 17th. Between June 12 and 24, candidacies could be submitted to the general assembly to be proclaimed on July 3. The RFEF, which claims not to have received any notice of this decision, could appeal.

And all this, just when Antonio Torres from Sabadell, who wants to run in the elections for the presidency of the Spanish Federation, claims that he has closed an agreement for the future Spanish coach to be Diego Armando Maradona, if he wins the elections. An election with the calendar yet to be confirmed.
