The treasure of the Cathedral and the circus museum of Besalú will receive grants from Culture

A project to enhance the highlights of the treasure of the Cathedral of Girona and the rehabilitation of the old monastery of Besalú to become the future Circus Museum are two of the 57 cultural projects in which the Generalitat will invest 27 million euros between 2020 and 2023.

These are the Catalan Government’s own funds that will be used to compensate for European money (ERDF) for Culture and which had to be referred to the Department of Health to deal with the pandemic.

This investment will be used, among others, to restore the Baluard del Rei de la Seu Vella or to improve the air conditioning of the Museu de Lleida, and improvements will also be made to other facilities such as the Auditori de Barcelona, the Liceu or the Museu of Contemporary Art of Barcelona.
