The new entry regulations have been in force in Germany since August. Accordingly, every returnee has to log on to the website www.einreiseanmeldung.de register if they are departing from a high-risk corona area or would like to re-enter by land.
Fully vaccinated and convalescent people are free from testing and quarantine, but not for those who have not been vaccinated. This group of people not only has to complete the digital entry registration, but also pass a corona test before departure from abroad and show a negative result. This is also necessary when entering by car, bus, train or ship.
In addition, unvaccinated people have to go into quarantine for ten days after entering Germany. After the fifth day of quarantine, it can be ended prematurely with a negative test result.
Vaccinated, convalescent and unvaccinated persons who enter Germany from a country designated as a virus variant area must, without exception, undergo a 14-day quarantine. This quarantine cannot be shortened. However, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has currently not listed any variant areas.
“Please check immediately before departure whether the countries in which you have stayed in the last ten days before entering Germany are classified as risk areas,” says the RKI website.
You can find the complete and updated list of countries with risk and virus variant areas of the RKI here.
