They filed a complaint for illegal exercise of the accounting profession

The Professional Council of Economic Sciences of Entre Ríos filed a criminal complaint on December 27, 2022, in the Villaguay Fiscal Unit for having verified the illegal exercise of the profession of Public Accountant in that city.
The CPCEER, since 2020, through Resolution No. 1,540 created a Commission for the Control and Supervision of Professions in Economic Sciences called “Registration Police”, which is in charge of verifying the exercise of the profession and giving a correct treatment of cases and complaints about alleged irregular performance and follow-up on them.
Within the framework of this Resolution, a complaint was received that at a home in the city of Villaguay, tasks related to the duties of a Public Accountant were being carried out, where the person responsible for the place does not have the enabling Professional Title and, obviously, neither is the registration, both requirements demanded for a correct performance, violating National Law No. 20,488 and Provincial Law No. 7,896 that regulate the exercise of professions in Economic Sciences.
For this reason, the Commission for the Control and Supervision of Professions in Economic Sciences intervened, which proceeded to comply with the steps provided for these situations and, through an Inspector, gathered various evidence, such as verification of registrations in AFIP, ATER , findings made by a notary public, , documentation provided to the complaint under analysis, etc.
After the analysis of all the documentation gathered, it was concluded that, at the address of Calle Concepción del Uruguay No. 43 in Villaguay, the profession of Public Accountant is being practiced illegally. For this reason, the Professional Council of Economic Sciences of Entre Ríos, through its Legal Advisors, filed a formal complaint against those who are responsible and/or co-authors and/or accomplices in the commission of the crimes foreseen and punished by articles 247. of the Penal Code that penalizes not only those who assume a professional title that they do not possess, but also those who, even though they are professionals, are not authorized to exercise it.
The Professional Council of Economic Sciences of Entre Ríos invites its enrollees and the community in general to report any suspicion of illegal exercise of the profession, being able to do so at the Headquarters, in any of the Delegations that the CPCEER has in the Province, or through its website www.cpceer.org.ar in the section “reporting illegal exercise”.
