The search forces, specifically through the oceanographic vessel of the Spanish Institute of Oceanography ‘Ángeles Alvariño’, have found this Thursday the lifeless body of Olivia, the eldest of the girls disappeared in Tenerife. The body was in a bag submerged in the sea. The Government Delegation has reported the finding. Both the girls and their father, Tomás Gimeno, have been missing since last April 27.
This finding has already been communicated to the family and occurs only a few days after in another area an oxygen cylinder and a duvet cover will appear which were later confirmed to be from Gimeno. The search now continues precisely to find the whereabouts of both Gimeno himself and Anna, the youngest.
Police jobs they then focused on tracking the scuba tank log data, since it is usual that there is a record of its acquisition and periodic reviews. In this way, it was confirmed that it belonged to the father of the girls Anna and Olivia, aged one and six. The researchers consider the possibility that Gimeno used stones to weigh down the bodies of the minors and make them disappear to the bottom of the sea.
The device was added weeks ago by the oceanographic vessel of the Spanish Institute of Oceanography ‘Ángeles Alvariño’, equipped with a side scan sonar and an underwater robot, tasked with tracking the seabed for clues.
The oceanographic vessel also carried out a marine inspection in the area where Tomás Gimeno’s boat was found adrift, one nautical mile from Puertito de Güímar. Its mission is to radiograph the seabed with sonar to try to identify any foreign object and, if possible, bring it to the surface with the underwater robot.
