Fourteen people who are most frequently caught in the violent acts carried out by the profujimorista organization The resistance will be part of the first phase of the investigation announced by the Minister of the Interior, Juan Carrasco Millions.
According to sources from the Mininter, would be the notorious leader of the group, Juan Muñico Gonzales, “Jota Maelo”, and his closest followers, Mary Cabrera Valdivia, Roger Ayachi Soria, Flor Contreras León, José García Danuso, Mary Vela Gamero, Zósimo Negreiros Ponte, José Sánchez Escalante, Edith Galarza Gerónimo, Vilma Gonzales Vidal and Elvis Occ Montano.
Also included were Álvaro Subiria Alegría, from Los Combatientes de La Resistencia, known as “Thor”. The pro-family leader José Linares Cerón, who supported the candidacy of Keiko Fujimori, and Alberto Bendezú Torres. All are recorded in footage made by the elements of La Resistencia themselves, by the media and by ordinary citizens who collaborate with the identification of right-wing extremists.
The decision to open investigations to La Resistencia was made by the Minister of the Interior due to the recent escalation of acts of violence by its members: the attempted seizure of the premises of the Callao morgue, where the body of Abimael Guzmán Reinoso is found; the call by social networks to attack the journalist of Radioprogramas del Perú, Jaime Chincha Ravines; and the statements that Juan Muñico offered to the Epicentro news portal.
“Jota Maelo” expressed that some of the militants are members of security companies and that they have firearms, which implies a virtual threat, indicated the sources of the Mininter.
“We are going to die killing,” affirmed the most visible leader of the Resistance, who during the last electoral process had intense activity, joining Keiko Fujimori’s campaign to denounce a false fraud.
Resistance militants – about 200, according to Muñico’s version – harassed the homes of the head of the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE), Piero Corvetto Salinas, and the president of the National Elections Jury (ONPE), Jorge Salas Arenas. And when the triumph of Pedro Castillo, they tried to break into the Government Palace by force.
“I am a man of the extreme right,” said Muñico, who not only recognized himself as a follower of Alberto Fujimori. He also visited him in the Diroes prison in Ate.
On social media, Juan Muñico and his followers urge to act against their victims, aggravating them, defaming them, insulting them. In several cases, they appear in groups and physically harass them.
The Resistance narrative is based on lies. It affirms that the enemies, the opponents, those who reject Fujimori, are communists, leftists, terrorists. On the occasion of the attack on former prosecutor Avelino Guillén Jáuregui, Muñico tweeted: “The campaign began: Plate your filoterruco caviar and make it shit.”
The extremist group began in 2018 with aggressive demonstrations against the media that investigate Fujimori., such as La República, El Comercio and IDL-Reporteros. This last portal revealed that Juan Muñico was involved in the murder of an ex-soldier.
One of the first performances was in support for the former prosecutor of the Nation Pedro Chávarry Vallejos, recently convicted for his shameful bias in favor of Fujimori.
They also repeatedly made demonstrations to the detriment of the prosecutor Jose Domingo Perez, in charge of the money laundering investigation against Keiko Fujimori, daughter of Muñico’s inspiring leader. However, “Jota Maelo” assured that he has no connection with Fuerza Popular.
The recent statements by the leader of La Resistencia, regarding the existence of members of that group who have weapons, triggered the decision of the Minister of the Interior to begin an investigation.
“We need a radical right-wing government,” said Juan Muñico.
The investigation will include the lifting of the secrecy of communications and also banking, in order to determine the group’s links and trace the origin of the funds with which it finances its activities, sources from the Interior Ministry indicated.
Through social networks, La Resistencia receives support from supporters of Fujimori or from sectors of the extreme right. Recently, One of these subjects demanded that the Resistance act against Radioprogramas journalist Jaime Chincha: “Find out his address from Jaime Chincha for defaming the La Resistencia collective, which always stops fighting. To go scare him for a while ”. Another replied: “Let’s see if they look for Jaime Chincha to give him a good kick. (…) He’s been looking for a good shot of shit for a long time ”.
Under the slogan “God, country and family” –which characterizes the extreme right and fascist groups–, “Juan Maelo” pointed out that they sympathize with the former supreme spokesman of Fujimori affiliation Javier Villa Stein; with the lawyer of the fujimorista Jaime Yoshiyama Tanaka, Humberto Abanto Verástegui, and with former Fujimori congresswoman Rosa Bartra.
Muñico said that they avoid the infiltration of other people to spy on them through a rigorous surveillance system. According to their sayings, there are people who train them in intelligence work.
For the sources of the Ministry of the Interior, the ultra-right group The Resistance has become a real threat not only to citizens who oppose Fujimorism but also to the authorities who make decisions that the extremists dislike. If they are not intervened and controlled in time, their actions could lead to much more violent and probably criminal behavior.
The Digimin and the Dirin will also participate
Specialized agents of the Directorate General of Intelligence of the Ministry of the Interior (Digimin) and the Intelligence Directorate of the National Police (Dirin) will join the Dirincri’s investigations into the right-wing extremist group known as La Resistencia.
The Mininter sources said that efforts are currently focused on reviewing hundreds of hours of footage and numerous publications on social networks about the activities of La Resistencia with the aim of identifying more members of the ultra-right group and eventually determine the existence of crimes.
Therefore, it is not ruled out that in the coming days the number of investigated will increase considerably. Added to this are the complaints that have been gathered against the members of La Resistencia.
