Since this Saturday, August 28, in Colombia, the vaccination against covid-19 was opened for children between 12 and 14 years old, showing a great advance in the vaccination plan.
President Iván Duque announced that the country accumulates 35,071,950 doses applied, 14,639,269 people have their complete vaccination scheme, that is, just over 29% of the total population of the country.
“Yesterday we exceeded 35 million doses applied and we fulfilled the goal proposed for the month of August in advance. It is with facts that the safe economic reactivation through the National Vaccination Plan advances,” President Iván Duque wrote on Twitter.
With these advances in the vaccination plan, the Colombian Society of Pediatrics and the Universidad del Norte issued a statement in which they recommend that the national government wait for the data from the clinical trials that are under development, so that it can begin vaccination in minors from 5 to 12 years old.
