they thought they were getting a good deal, “we had to pay 1,551 euros within two weeks!”

Jos had booked his vacation at Center Parcs before the Covid prevented him from leaving. Then when he was able to book again for his trip, he no longer wanted to go. He therefore sold his tickets to the park on 2ememain.be. This is where Peter and Kim come across the enticing ad and decide to treat themselves to this short family vacation.

Indeed, the trip was sold for 750 euros for a value of approximately 1551 euros. But a small problem has crept into the equation. Center Parcs is claiming the full amount from the couple who still have a voucher of equal value to spend.

“We agreed an amount of 750 euros with Jos,” Peter told HBVL. “We paid Jos and used the voucher to book a five-day stay at Center Parcs’ Terhills Resort. This trip cost a little more, and I paid for it at Center Parcs. »

“A few weeks before our vacation, I asked Center Parcs if it was possible to adjust our booking. In fact, the travel documents we had received showed that we had booked accommodation for eight people. It was actually way too big for our family of three. They adjusted our request. We went in May and had an amazing time”.

Incomprehension

Two months later, Peter receives a surprising message. As he had booked a smaller stay, he was entitled to a refund of €508. The money was paid into his account in August.

Then, the day before Saint-Nicolas, the couple received a new notice from Center Parcs, which was much less cheerful… “A voucher worth 1,551 euros has been added to your reservation at Terhills Resort. We ask you to pay this amount now, within two weeks.”

“We were shocked. We immediately contacted Center Parcs. It turned out that CenterParcs had refunded the first owner of the voucher. We felt like thieves. »

HBVL therefore conducted an investigation and contacted Center Parcs: “An invoice was issued by mistake in the name of your reader”, they wrote before apologizing and asking to disregard the message which requested a refund.
