Bad surprise for thousands of Guadeloupe households, this Monday, January 17, in the evening. No electricity for long minutes.
In a press release, EDF Guadeloupe explains that a “drop in production linked to a major technical failure at an electricity producer puts the balance of the electricity system in the territory at risk“.
Consequently, risks of cuts were announced in certain areas in the evening.
In Lamentin, Sainte-Rose, Abymes, Saint-François, Baie-Mahault and in several other towns, the streets are lit by car lights, the inhabitants had to take out lamps and candles.
More information to come.
